Physician Assistant

Position Summary:
Provides primary and urgent medical care within the scope of established medical protocols and state licensing. Collaborates with a healthcare team to deliver prompt, comprehensive, and competent acute care to patients.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Deliver exemplary customer service to patients, visitors, and coworkers, maintaining high satisfaction standards.
• Provide leadership and support during emergencies while ensuring a comforting environment.
• Comply with all relevant regulatory standards and licensure requirements (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA, CPR certification).
• Conduct medical assessments and accurately document all relevant information in designated forms or Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Establish and monitor appropriate levels of care for patients.
• Perform physical examinations including workers’ compensation, occupational medicine, DOT, sports, wellness, and pre-employment screenings.
• Oversee and support on-site laboratory services, medication dispensing, x-rays, injections, and specimen collections where applicable.
• Conduct daily follow-up calls to urgent care patients to review treatment and progress.
• Collaborate with management and staff to ensure operations align with medical policies and professional standards.
• Participate in and support continuing education and training programs for clinical staff.
• Assist with scheduling and medical coverage as needed.
• Engage in projects to improve patient services and clinical operations.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, certification, and accreditation requirements.
• Place IVs and initiate intravenous therapy when appropriate.
• Perform medical procedures including abscess drainage, laceration repair, and splinting on patients aged 6 months and older.
• Manage multiple exam rooms efficiently in single-provider settings.
• Review lab and radiology results and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Complete all clinical documentation within 48 hours.
• Maintain honesty and integrity in all professional and business activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education & Certification:
• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Active Physician Assistant license in practicing state
• Active DEA license if applicable
• Board Certification
• BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications
• Medical Examiner Certification for DOT physicals (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
Experience:
• Willingness to train new graduates
• Experience in pediatric care (6 months and older)
• Familiarity with chronic disease management (e.g., Diabetes, Hypertension, CHF)
• Experience using Electronic Health Records preferred
Additional Skills:
• Ability to lead and respond effectively in emergency situations
• Competent in suturing, abscess drainage, and timely chart completion
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
Work Schedule:
• 30-39 hours per week, Full-time
